In Last Mile Distribution (LMD) operations, DHI-Logistics undertakes a range of tasks to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of health commodities, consumables and other related items to the designated health facilities and LGAs.
Our tasks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in LMD operations include:
Route Planning: We plan the most optimal routes for the delivery vehicles, considering factors such as distance, traffic conditions, and delivery schedules. This helps to minimize travel time and ensure timely deliveries.
Vehicle Mobilization and Loading: We mobilize the vehicles required for the LMD operations and ensure they are loaded with the correct items as per the LMD orders. This involves coordinating the loading process to ensure accuracy and efficient use of available space.
Coordination of Picked and Packed Items: We coordinate and confirm that the picked and packed items match the LMD orders before they are loaded onto the delivery vehicles. This quality check ensures that the right commodities are being delivered to the health facilities.
Driver and Conveyor Assignment: We assign drivers and conveyors to the respective LMD deliveries. This includes ensuring that they are briefed on their responsibilities and provided with necessary instructions for successful deliveries.
Compliance with LMD Order/POD: We ensure that the commodities are properly checked in line with the LMD order and Proof of Delivery (POD) requirements before loading them onto the vehicles. This ensures accuracy and accountability in the delivery process.
Communication with Health Facilities: We make sure to contact the receiving health facilities before the deliveries to confirm their availability and readiness to receive the commodities. This proactive communication helps to ensure a smooth handover of the goods.
Timely Delivery: Our goal is to ensure that health facilities receive their commodities within the scheduled time. We closely monitor the delivery process and make adjustments as needed to meet the LMD timelines.
Compliance with ONE Network Mobile Application: We ensure that the drivers and conveyors comply with the ONE network mobile application, which facilitates real-time tracking, communication, and confirmation of deliveries at the health facilities.
By performing these tasks diligently, DHI-Logistics aims to deliver health commodities to the right health facilities with accurate item descriptions, quantities, batch numbers, and expiry dates. Our focus is on meeting LMD timelines, maintaining transparency through proper documentation, and ensuring a seamless delivery experience for the health facilities we serve.
